The Forest Welcome

Elevated nostalgia without the cliché.
A new hospitality concept near the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, translating the social generosity and analog spirit of the era into a contemporary world of communal tables, music rituals, tactile materials, cabins, gathering spaces, and a carefully choreographed 48-hour guest experience.
The work spans positioning, naming, brand world, architecture and interiors, guest ritual, food and beverage concepts, visual direction, collateral, and experience design.

The Bindy draws on the cultural memory of Woodstock without recreating 1969. The references live in the way people gather, listen, eat, linger, and move through the property: generous communal spaces, analog music, tactile materials, firelight, forest, and an ease that feels social rather than programmed.

The Hearth Room was conceived as the heart of the property: a place where food, music, local ingredients, and long tables turn dinner into part of the guest experience rather than a separate amenity.

The cabins shift the rhythm from gathering to retreat. Warm timber, fire, records, layered textiles, forest views, and quieter rituals create a sense of refuge without breaking the language of the larger property.

The property was conceived not simply as a collection of spaces, but as a sequence—alternating discovery, connection and retreat. Arrival, records, communal dinner, forest wandering, thermal bathing and the return of the borrowed vinyl create a beginning, middle and end to the stay.

The identity extends into menus, stationery, textiles, candles, journals, apparel, totes and other tactile objects designed as natural artifacts of the stay. The retail world grows from the same visual and cultural DNA as the property itself.

The same governing idea can stretch into weddings, seasonal gatherings, live music, maker events and private celebrations without losing its identity. The framework gives the property room to grow while still feeling unmistakably The Bindy.
